The Difference Between Single and Tandem Axle

Tandem axle trailers have two axels which help disperse the weight of the load, offering increased stability, which is helpful for heavy-duty hauling. On the other hand, single axle trailers are lighter and therefore easier to manoeuvre than double axles of the same size. As a result, single axles are better suited for lighter cargo.

Single Axle

Our single axle boat trailers are available in both 6x4m and 7x5m sizes; each one suitable for different uses.

Our road-ready 6×4 single axle caged boat trailers are heavy-duty, hot-tip galvanised trailers with a checker plate design. Customers can choose from brand new 13-inch or 14-inch tyres and a 600mm high cage.

Tandem Axle

Tandem Axle boat trailers are designed for transporting heavier items, with the double axel helping to stabilise and disperse the weight of the load. Similar to our single axle trailers, the tandem axle comes in 8×5, 9×5 and 10x5m sizes to suit a wide range of uses.
